After years of internal debate and struggle, Megan Murphy finally said out loud that she wanted to be an artist, and would continue to devote her life to this. Born in the Philippines, she was shaped to develop a burdensome work ethic in pursuit of perfection. This pursuit would be tested later in her teenage years, as she migrated herself to America at the age of 14 to follow her artistic dreams. In America her creativity flourished as she was presented with unlimited art classes and opportunities. She received a BFA at the University of Kansas. She fell in love with sculpture. Her sculptures have been in numerous shows in America and have won awards. She found her place and solace in making ceramic figures reflective not in pursuit of perfection anymore, but in trying to explore the vulnerabilities of the human experience.
